1.Irfan Khan –
Though he has now been receiving good movies with lead roles and won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor this year for Hindi Medium, it took a long time for him to get here. He has been in the industry for more than two decades. Recipient of innumerable national and international awards, Irfan now works in Hollywood as well. The actor was appreciated in movies like Paan Singh Tomar, The Namesake, Haasil and Life in a Metro.
2.Boman Irani –
He began his career at the age of 41 with Munnabhai MBBS. He also worked in the sequel Lage Raho Munna Bhai for which he received several IIFA award nominations and in 3 Idiots opposite Aamir Khan which earned him a Filmfare Award and a Star Screen Award for Best Actor in a Villainous Role. He is also a veteran theatre actor.
3.Nawazuddin Siddiqui –
The actor worked as a watchman during his struggling days. He had been seen in many movies in small, insignificant roles. His breakthrough came in with Anurag Kashyap`s Black Friday (2007), which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and was a nominee for the Best Film (Golden Leopard) award at the Locarno Film Festival. His role as a journalist in Peepli Live earned him recognition. He has since been seen in many mainstream movies and also won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor award for The Lunchbox.
4.Sanjay Mishra –
An alumnus of National School of Drama (NSD), Sanjay Mishra has acted in many films and television series. Seen on the big screen in Satya and Dil Se...his TV show Office Office was much appreciated. Though he has acted in innumerable movies, those were primarily supporting roles, usually a comic one. He won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for his role as Bauji in the film Ankhon Dekhi.
5.Manoj Bajpayee –
Recipient of two National Awards, Manoj Bajpayee received acclaim for his breakthrough role in Satya. He has since been seen in several movies like Kaun, Shool, Zubeidaa, Pinjar, Gangs of Wasseypur, Special 26 and more. He also starred in Veer Zaara in a minor role. Method actor that he is, his unconventional roles have made him popular. He will be seen in upcoming bollywood movie Aiyaary next.
