After graduating, Siddiqui entered the National School of Drama and then went to Mumbai. The 2004 year, proved to be the most struggling year of his life, at this time he was also unable to pay rent. In the role of Sonu Duggal in Asim Ahluwalia's film Miss Lovely, he played the role of a primary role. His performance in this film was also praised in the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, he was also given the status of "Most Real Performer" in this festival. Siddiqui was also seen in the sequels of Gangs of Wasseypur. In 2013, he had a horror movie Soul, in which he appeared in the lead role.
